What I work on.

A short list of the regulars. If your project isn't here, ask anyway — odds are I've done it.

Indoor kids' play areas
Climbing walls, monkey bars, rope nets — turn a basement or bonus room into the favorite spot in the house.
Custom carpentry
Built-ins, shelving, benches, mantels — things you can't just buy off the shelf.
Bathroom remodels
Vanities, tile, fixtures, lighting. Full refresh or one piece at a time.
Kitchen remodels
Cabinets, countertops, backsplash, hardware. Bring it up to date without starting over.
Doors
Hanging, replacing, fixing the one that won't latch — interior or exterior.
Flooring
Laminate, vinyl plank, tile patches. Trim and transitions done clean.
Sinks & toilets
Swaps, replacements, leaky faucets — without the plumber's bill.
TV mounting
Studs found, level set, cables hidden. Looks like it came with the house.
Small repairs
Squeaky hinges, sticky drawers, drywall holes, loose railings, and the rest.

Hi, I'm John.

Before I started taking on handyman work in Ann Arbor, I built a tiny home from the ground up — framing, roofing, the whole thing — and fabricated a custom trailer along the way. Projects like that teach you to slow down, measure twice, and finish what you start.

So when someone calls about a sticky door or a wobbly toilet, it's a quick visit, not a project. No upsells, no jargon, no surprises on the invoice. Just the work, done right.

Indoor play areas, built into your home.

Basements, bonus rooms, finished attics — most of these spaces sit underused for years. With the right build, they become the spot the kids want to be every day, rain or snow.

I designed and built one in my own home: a climbing wall, monkey bars, and a rope net ladder. Solid lumber, rated hardware, anchored properly into framing — not the kind of thing that comes loose in six months. Whatever the space and however the kids like to move, I'll work with you on the design and build it to handle real, daily use.

  • Climbing walls · custom holds and routes
  • Monkey bars & rope nets · anchored into real framing
  • Ninja-style courses · fits the room you have
  • Custom design · bring a sketch or just an idea
